Venue Highlights
From Deschutes Brewery's website:

"The Portland Deschutes Brewery and Public House opened in Portland’s Pearl District in May 2008 and has become a destination for great beer, delicious food and a relaxed urban atmosphere. The pub’s design is similar to a Scottish pub, but with a distinct Northwest style that brings a taste of Central Oregon to the heart of Portland. The Portland brew pub produces all the traditional Deschutes year-round beers and seasonal offerings, including flagship beers Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter. The brew pub’s 18 taps also feature a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on-site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Cam O’Connor. Executive Chef Jeff Usinowicz heads the kitchen team, crafting classic pub food taken to the next level. This Portland Oregon restaurant takes great pride in producing the highest quality food from start to finish with all menu items made from scratch using the best possible local ingredients."

Deschutes is just a great space. I feel like I'm on vacation there because (although it's big) it has a cabin feel to it. The food is delicious. I'm especially obsessed with their pretzel--probably the best one I've had. The downside is how busy it gets, so expect a wait.

Deschutes is probably the most hopping brewery in town. The only bad part about this is there's usually a 45-60 minute wait to get a table on weekend nights. In the end it is usually worth it. With a large beer menu including rotating taps I think most beer lovers can be happy. I'm a hops lover and really liked the Mirror Mirror Barley Wine. The food is also good, although a bit pricey. I had both the brewery pretzel and yellow belly burger which were delicious. Overall expect a crowd but it offers a fun buzzing atmosphere and the rest of the experience should be top notch when it comes to breweries. I would definitely recommend.
